Robert Walters Belgium A company active in the insurance sector for large industrial construction projects, based in Brussels, is on the lookout for a Claims Engineer. You will be working with clients, brokers and lawyers in discussing existing claims or contract developments. As a Claims Engineer, some of your main responsibilities will include: To handle the claims from A to Z (closing and archiving) To use your technical background to provide needed advice to Underwriters based on the claims experience (This includes the analysis of the policy coverage, the development of the best strategy, the determination of the good provision and follow-up, the participation to meetings with the client, the broker, the expert and also the lawyer if applicable and the negotiation of the claims with this parties) To meet regularly with brokers to discuss existing claims / account development. To carry out client visits to discuss claims development, current claims trends and issues, develop and maintain To liaise with brokers, co-insurers, re-insurers, outsourcing providers on claims related issues. To be responsible for the follow-up of his/her claims portfolio, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of record keeping, in accordance with claims procedures. To analyse the Claims data to provide reports for Claims and Underwriting. To participate to Claims and others projects/working groups as required by the Group. The ideal candidate for the position of Claims Engineer has a master's degree in civil or industrial engineering preferably in construction. Prior experience in construction is desired but not a must. Open for fresh graduates.
